Quay&Triakonter

A Greek triaconter (2 x 15 rowers) was around 20 m long, with a less than 3 m beam and had a draught less than 1 m (Casson, 1971). It could thus fit the 3.5 m docks between the Apollonia ‘quays’. It could be unloaded quickly and then be hauled on the beach further South where room was available for many ships.
